As one of NYC’s longest running outdoor culinary festivals, highlighting the global cuisine of the district, the Times Square Alliance's annual Taste of Times Square will feature over 30 participating restaurants, ranging from Mexican, Caribbean, Cuban, Italian, Indian, American and beyond. The event will return to its previous location this year, stretching from 7th Avenue to 9th Avenue on 46th Street &amp; Restaurant Row, as well as the Broadway Plazas between 45th and 47th Streets. The festival will include live music and performances celebrating Broadway. Taste of Times Square is presented by The Durst Organization.&nbsp;Participants will have the chance to register a wristband with their credit or debit card at the event to purchase “tastes” at the participating restaurants onsite.&nbsp; Most “tastes” will be just $5 with a few costing $10. Glen Island Park

A glowing Glen Island Park is coming to the Westchester waterfront this fall as the Autumn Glow Festival transforms New Rochelle into a brightly lit waterfront wonderland. Opening Friday, September 11, 2026, and running through November 1, 2026, the limited-time evening event merges traditional Chinese lantern artistry with modern LED displays along the shores of Long Island Sound. Tickets are on sale now.
Over the last eight years, the festival of lanterns by Kaleido Entertainment has appeared around the United States. In addition to New Rochelle, the Autumn Glow Festival is currently opening in Schenectady, New York with future locations being announced in the near future.

Cathedral of St. John the Divine

Join the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in Morningside Heights for the opening reception of Gaia by UK artist Luke Jerram! In honor of the 800th anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi’s passing, the Cathedral is welcoming Gaia, a touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram. Measuring 23 feet in diameter and featuring detailed NASA imagery of the Earth’s surface, this rotating installation will be suspended in the Cathedral nave, offering a three-dimensional view of the planet floating in space. Gaia will be on view at the Cathedral from September 18 to October 9 and is included with admission during regular open hours. This talk explores Stevens' bold vision for Reconstruction, the fierce opposition he faced, and why the questions he raised about freedom, justice, and democracy remain just as relevant today.
Stephanie Townrow is the Director of Interpretation and Exhibitions at the Thaddeus Stevens &amp; Lydia Hamilton Smith Center for History and Democracy, a new museum she has had the privilege to build from the ground-up. A Ph.D. candidate in American history at the University of Delaware, she specializes in bringing the past to life through storytelling, artifacts, and the occasional deep dive down a historical rabbit hole. NEW YORK – July 9, 2026 — After spending more than two decades helping others discover their authentic selves as a psychotherapist, performer and educator Earl Grey (they/them), a genderqueer artist, is stepping into the spotlight to share their own story.
This fall, Grey makes their New York cabaret debut with I Am Me – On Purpose!, an intimate and uplifting evening of music and storytelling directed by acclaimed cabaret artist Michael Kirk Lane, with musical direction by Yasuhiko Fukuoka. The show will be presented at the Laurie Beechman Theatre for three performances: September 10 at 7PM, October 10 at 3PM, and November 12, 2026 at 7:00 PM.
Drawing from a life that has unfolded on both the stage and in the therapy room, I Am Me – On Purpose! explores identity, self-acceptance, transformation, and the universal search for belonging. The Jay Heritage Center in Rye, New York will celebrate America at 250 with a toast to Jay Medal honorees Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annette Gordon-Reed, the Carl M. Loeb University Professor at Harvard University and award-winning Lincoln historian Harold Holzer.
The Jay Medal for Service was created in 2012 to recognize individuals who demonstrate a selfless spirit of commitment to and engagement with their community mirroring the multifaceted contributions of John Jay and his descendants. These honorees have demonstrated through their life's work that our shared narratives as a country, complicated as they are, can be better illuminated through the highest caliber of ongoing scholarship and advocacy. Honorees are selected for their excellence in the fields of American history, environmental stewardship, social justice or civic engagement.
Joining the celebration will be Chief Judge of the State of New York and the New York Court of Appeals, Honorable Rowan D. Wilson and historian and philanthropist Elihu Rose who will present the awards at JHC's annual Soirée. Special guests will include David Blight, Frank Cogliano, Joanne Freeman, and Beverly Gage.

The Jay Medal Soirée will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Jay Estate from 5:30-9:30pm. Cocktails, dinner, award ceremony and dancing. Cocktail Attire.
