Pilar Diaz, Neighbor

Although she grew up in Colorado, Pilar Diaz has lived in or around Culver City for more than a decade. She has been a fan since her friend Jeff—who grew up on Hannum Avenue—showed her the alley short cuts to the 405 and the 10, which then made her realize that it is possible to get to places in 20 or so minutes!  Pilar has worked in nonprofit  for more than 14 years and is currently a program officer at a private philanthropic foundation.  

She received her masters in public administration from the California State University, Northridge and completed her undergraduate studies in Black History at the University of Colorado at Boulder. In addition to blogging, Pilar is active in numerous young professional and philanthropic groups, runs marathons and is an avid golfer.
