Community members age 18 and older are invited to a free Kidney Health Outreach Program on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature kidney disease screenings provided by the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois through its Kidney Mobile® program.&nbsp;The screening is open to everyone in the local community and will help identify kidney disease risk factors, including diabetes and high blood pressure. Attendees may also speak privately with a healthcare provider about their results.

<h2>What a Friday looks like</h2>
Each week runs from 6:55 to 8:25 in the evening. The children hear a short Bible lesson, share a snack, and either play games or make a craft, and they are back to you by the end of the evening.
This fall every lesson centers on a child from Scripture, from young Samuel serving in the temple to the boy who brought his loaves and fish. The aim is simple: to show your child that God knows them and works through them, whatever their age.

A short lesson on a child from the Bible and what God did through them.
A snack
A snack together partway through the evening.
Games or a craft
Some weeks the children play games together. Other weeks they make a simple take-home craft tied to the lesson.
Registering your child is preferred but not required. It helps us plan, and you are always welcome to just come. You may drop your child off or stay for the evening, whichever you prefer, and we ask that you are back by 8:25 for pickup.

Does it cost anything?
No. KINGS Club is free, including the snack and craft.
Do I need to register?
Registering ahead is preferred but not required. It helps us plan, and you are welcome to just come if you would rather. You can register at the link near the top of this page.
What if my child has allergies?
Note any allergies or medical needs on the registration form. Our leaders will have that information on hand each week.
Do parents stay, or is it drop-off?
Whichever you prefer. You may drop your child off, or you are welcome to stay for the evening. Please be back by 8:25 for pickup.

The Warrior’s Walk
The Warrior’s Walk is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation based in Illinois, uniting a network of VFWs, American Legions, businesses, and schools throughout the Chicago area. Together, we are dedicated to ending Veteran suicide and raising awareness of the mental health challenges faced by our nation’s heroes. 
 
Founded in 2019 by Ryan Brazel, the Warrior’s Walk has been proudly supported by the Harry E. Anderson VFW Post #9545 and has grown exponentially. 
 
In 2024, the Thomas E. Hartung American Legion Post #1977 transitioned from a lead supporter to a contributing partner, playing a pivotal role as we grew into an independent organization. 
 
With the support of our community, we are determined to make a lasting impact on Veteran suicide. Together, we can work toward a brighter future for those who have served.

About the March
The Warriors Walk is a FREE event dedicated to raising awareness of Veteran suicide prevention through a ruck march. A ruck march, a longstanding military tradition, involves walking while carrying a backpack or weighted pack, symbolizing strength, perseverance, and unity.

- The Memorial Mile (1 mile)
- 5K (3.36 miles)
- 5 miles (4.8 miles)
- 10 miles (9.96 miles)
- 20 miles (19.5 miles)
WHEN &amp; WHERE
The third Saturday of September at 9:00 AM at the New Lenox Village Commons (1 Veterans Parkway, New Lenox, IL). Registration begins at 8:00 AM.
ROUTE
East along the Old Plank Road Trail toward the Frankfort VFW at Pfeiffer and Sauk Trl Rd. Halfway points for each distance will be marked, and participants will turn around and march back to the New Lenox Village Commons.
Making a Difference
The Warriors Walk supports Veterans and their families by raising funds for essential mental health care. Every dollar raised through fundraising, events, sponsorships, and partnerships goes to organizations that promote positive mental health for Veterans.

We collaborate with organizations that provide accessible, stigma-free mental health services for Veterans, Service Members, and their families. These organizations offer:
* Free and affordable therapy sessions tailored to trauma treatment.
* Ongoing access to mental health care through in-person and telehealth services.

The CLRC Will Celebrate America 250/239 at the September Open House
The Club’s first open house of the 2026-27 season, September 19, will celebrate America 250/239. The open house date falls during the Congressionally established Constitution week (September 17-23 of each year) and will celebrate the 239th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787, and the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. To celebrate the two anniversaries:
·The clubhouse will be specially decorated for the day
·In the morning a George Washington reenactor will circulate among the visitors and discuss the Constitution
·From 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Revolutionary War reenactors who are descendants of actual Revolutionary War soldiers will be present in the dress of the era and will circulate among the visitors
·There will be a special photo area where visitors can take their pictures with a life size George Washington cut out
·In recognition of our country’s 250th anniversary all rolling stock and engines in the retail shop will be discounted 25% 
Tell your family and friends about the event and give them an opportunity to enjoy watching model trains while learning about our nation’s history.
