Prepare to be moved, inspired, and energized!
Stages of Freedom is thrilled to present "A Concert for Freedom," a carefully curated cultural experience blending music, spoken-word, and historical texts. This free public event takes place on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the historic First Baptist Church in America, located at 75 North Main Street in Providence, Rhode Island.

Serving as the grand finale and closing event of the landmark RI250 Celebration, "A Concert for Freedom" dives deep into profound themes of enslavement, resistance, emancipation, liberation, and the universal human desire for self-determination. The performance shines a spotlight on Rhode Island’s central role in the transatlantic slave trade, while honoring the brave African American men who fought in the Revolutionary War as a pathway to securing their own freedom.
