Memory Cafés began in Holland in the late 1990s as a simple idea: create a friendly, social setting where people experiencing memory changes and those who care for them could gather, enjoy familiar activities, and spend time together in a relaxed, supportive environment. Today, Memory Cafés are found worldwide and are designed for people living with memory changes and their care partners to enjoy together.
Each Memory Café offers a chance to step away from appointments, schedules, and daily responsibilities and simply enjoy time together. The hour includes a thoughtful mix of easy, enjoyable activities and time to socialize.
A defining part of this partnership is the involvement of <a href="https://rvnahealth.org/news/meet-danielle-taibi-ot-dementia-specialist/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">RVNAhealth Dementia Specialist, Danielle Taibi</a>, who offers a supportive and welcoming environment, focused on enjoyment, connection, and shared activities.
Guests are asked to attend with their care partner, who will stay with them for the full hour.

Designed for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners, this engaging program offers a unique way to explore contemporary art while supporting movement, expression, and community. The debut of a recurring survey taking place every ten years, features artists who live and work in Connecticut. As the state’s only institution exclusively dedicated to contemporary art, this series will spotlight current artists and practices emerging from Connecticut. Medicare can be confusing, especially when plans, costs, and coverage can change from year to year. With Medicare Open Enrollment right around the corner, this is a good time to understand your options and make sure your coverage is still working for you.Join Karen for a practical, easy-to-understand conversation about Medicare. Karen will explain how Medicare works, the choices available to you, what to review in your current coverage, and what to consider before making changes.
Ridgefield Social Services has a team of certified Medicare CHOICES counselors available to help you review your coverage. Last year, Ridgefield’s counselors helped local residents save over $545,000 in projected prescription costs for 2026. Don’t miss your chance to save as well!
Medicare Open Enrollment for 2027 coverage runs October 15 through December 7, 2026, with changes taking effect January 1, 2027. Even if you’re happy with your current coverage, plans can change their costs, benefits, provider networks, and prescription drug coverage each year, making an annual review worthwhile.

This plant-forward way of eating is rich in fiber, phytonutrients, and antioxidants, has been associated with a lower risk of many chronic conditions, and is a helpful guide for achieving or maintaining a healthy weight.
In this friendly and casual environment, we’ll prepare a complete meal featuring an abundance of colorful vegetables, lean proteins, fresh herbs, and heart-healthy fats, highlighting the nutrition and easy substitutions while we work. On view this year in the Painting Gallery&nbsp;is&nbsp;Tomashi Jackson and Robert Rauschenberg: The Catch One. Featuring newly commissioned paintings by Jackson in dialogue with works by Rauschenberg from the historic site’s permanent collection and the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, the exhibition contributes to a global slate of 2025–26 initiatives that reexamine Rauschenberg’s legacy, honoring his expansive creativity, spirit of curiosity, and commitment to change.
In the Sculpture Gallery,&nbsp;encounter&nbsp;the large-scale works by artists including John Chamberlain, Bruce Nauman, and Frank Stella that were collected by Philip Johnson and David Whitney.
Our expert educators will be available across the site to provide information and answer questions.
Please note that all guests&nbsp;will need to exit The Glass House property by 8 PM.

Trinity Lutheran Church

The Brewster Carmel Garden Club Standard Flower Show entitled "America the Beautiful--250 Years" will be held Friday, Aug. 21 from 2 - 4:00 pm and&nbsp; Saturday, August 22 from 10 am - 4 pm.
The show will be located at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2103 Route 6, Brewster, NY.&nbsp; Enter on Old Route 6, turn on Husted Road where you'll see the church parking lot and entrance to the building.
In addition to displays of garden flowers, herbs, vegetables, potted plants, and terrariums, there will be educational displays, botanical arts creations and numerous floral arrangements vying for ribbons in this fun, competitive event.
A highlight of this free event is the club's incredible Chinese Auction where participants place their purchased raffle tickets in the bags in front of the item(s) they're interested in winning.
So, mark your calendars and plan to join the members of your local community gardeners at this totally free event. Whether you are an avid gardener or just want to see some breathtaking blooms and catch up with friends, there’s something for everyone. Come for the flowers, stay for the community!
