The mission of Afterwards is to deliver unique and innovative programming that delivers healing and self-empowerment to individuals who are 1-5 years out from a forever change, including the loss of a loved one, divorce/relationship breakup, serious illness, trauma, or significant change of any kind.
Afterwards addresses the lack of specialized resources available to help people get “unstuck” and emotionally transition and transform themselves in healthy ways toward a new and different life.
Afterwards is the next step and is the critical link from being supported through therapy and support groups to actually gaining the ability to flourish.
About Sharon:
My personal losses have shaped my life and my business. At the age of 18 my girlfriend was murdered three days before our high school graduation. I went on to experience job loss, the death of my mother due to cancer and my 2 best friends, a divorce, single parenting to my two children including a special needs child, loss of my dreams, hopes and loss of a body part due to the breast cancer genes. The most painful and profound loss was committing my then 10 year old son to a mental institution. It changed me, my view of my world, all of my relationships and the entire direction of my life.
I walked away from a 27 year thriving career as an art director to create more meaning and purpose in my life. I went back to school and studied at The Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC)ac, a top-rated, International Coach Federation (ICF)-accredited Coach Training Program, completing over 750 course and training hours to obtain the third highest certification, PCC.
My mission is to change the way people view and live life after loss and forever changes. I bring many years of professional experience and all of my life experience, specializing in, grief and loss, specifically divorce or relationship issues, caregiving, life changing illness, and loss of dreams. I help people create the bridge into their new and different life with meaning, purpose and resilience.
I am honored when people allow me to guide them through their most painful emotions and painful events. When they lean into the pain, and turn it into resilience and new possibilities it’s the most inspiring experience.
To spread my mission, I have co-authored a book entitled, How to Survive When Your Ship is Sinking, written articles that can be read in Coping with Cancer, Breast Cancer Wellness, Open To Hope and Self Growth, ADD Magazine and you can hear her interviews on W4CS Everything Cancer radio. I have partnered with many organizations including Living Beyond Breast Cancer, Gilda’s club of South Jersey, Cancer Coalition of NJ, Multiple Myeloma Support Group Philadelphia PA., Family Resource Network, Kennedy Hospital, MS Society, The People in Transition of Gloucester County, National Caregivers Association, Camden County Women’s Health Fair, Mind Body Spirit Convention, Ocean County Guidance Counselor Association and Camden County NASW Chapter.
In my spare time and I spend it with my 2 legged favorites, fabulous husband, my children, grandson, close friends and her 4 legged pets.
