This show is a Sensory-Friendly Performance for teens and adults on the autism spectrum or with other sensory sensitivities. This program takes place in our Studio.
At this sensory-friendly performance, you will find:
<ul><li>Lighting and sound levels are modulated to reduce anxiety and stress.</li><li>A judgment-free environment, with a relaxed attitude toward noise and moving around during the show.</li><li>A separate break area with soft seating and fidget toys. We also have headphones and weighted blankets upon request.&nbsp;</li><li>Ushers and volunteers who have been specially trained to assist you.</li><li>A&nbsp;<a href="https://www.stnj.org/education-community/community-family-programs/sensory-friendly-performances-1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">social story&nbsp;</a>is provided in advance to help you prepare for your trip to the theater.</li></ul>

TAHIRA invites families into a warm storytelling space where everyone belongs. Drawing on folktales from the African Diaspora—often featuring animals, humor, and heart—TAHIRA creates a relaxed, participatory experience rooted in call-and-response and gentle sing-alongs with guitar. TAHIRA's welcoming, joyful, and accessible performances are great for first-time theatergoers and multigenerational audiences alike.
TAHIRA is the recipient of the 2021 New Jersey Governor’s Award for Distinguished Teaching Artist, recognizing her excellence in arts education, and a Master Fellow with the Delaware Division of the Arts, the state’s highest honor for individual artists. She is also the founder of TAHIRA Productions, Inc., producing storytelling programs, residencies, and community-based arts projects for schools, theaters, museums, and festivals nationwide.
<a href="https://www.stnj.org/education-community/community-family-programs/milk-cookies-series-for-ages-3-9" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Milk &amp; Cookies</a> is a lively, interactive storytelling and music series for families. This program, which takes place in our Studio, is the perfect way to introduce children ages 3-8 to live theater. Includes a cookie and a carton of milk for every child after the show.

The X Ensemble will present a spirited classical trio performance highlighted by two premieres: a brand-new work by pianist Neil Alexander and inventive variations on a familiar traditional theme. BEATLES, ZEPPELIN, DOORS by Magical Mystery Doors is a tribute act that blends and layers the music of three legendary bands to create something new and unique for music fans everywhere.
The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and The Doors. These three iconic groups have changed the face of music as we know it. Their songs have become part of our history. Their melodies have moved people everywhere to “Come Together” in their love of music. Patrons attending a Magical Mystery Doors performance can expect to hear timeless tunes from each of these historic bands over the course of the night. The songs you know, the songs you love, the songs you sing at the top of your lungs!
Throughout the show, the band combines some of these classic compositions in ways that surprise and delight audiences time and time again. The melody from The Doors’ “Hello, I Love You” laying atop Led Zeppelin’s “Misty Mountain Hop.” The pounding beat of Zep’s “When The Levee Breaks” coupled with the serene strumming of The Beatles’ “Dear Prudence.” The thematic sequence of "The Rain Song," "Riders On The Storm," and "Here Comes The Sun"—these rare arrangements take crowds on an unexpected and exhilarating journey “Over The Hills And Far Away.”
MMD also enhances the audience experience with a captivating visual presentation.
