The Audubon Symphony Orchestra, a community orchestra based in Trappe, PA, is seeking new musicians for its 2026-2027 season.
The orchestra is particularly seeking bassoons, a tuba, violas, cellos, oboes, and a solo clarinetist to join the 55-member ensemble. Additional violinists are also welcome.
The Audubon Symphony, now in its 36th year, rehearses Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9:30 at St. Luke’s Friendship Church, 200 W. Main St. in Trappe, PA. The orchestra plays a broad selection of music from classical to Broadway to pop. There are no auditions required to join; the orchestra prides itself on including players of all abilities, and its musicians range in age from high school students to senior citizens. The orchestra also includes a number of smaller ensembles, including a string quartet, clarinet choir, brass quintet, flute quartet, and others. 
The orchestra director, Mr. John Mayer, holds an MA in Orchestral Conducting from the West Chester University Wells School of Music.
The orchestra performs two public concerts each year, plus a number of concerts at private institutions.

Asian offerings include Japanese and Chinese cloisonné, Satsuma, Shibayama, silver, mixed metal, and porcelain works. Furniture and Decorative Arts include a bench made tiger maple highboy, a Hungarian Biedermeier secrétaire abattant, a French Zodiac garden center table, painted carousel horses, leaded slag glass lamps, Bohemian Art Nouveau glass, Rosenthal - Versace "Medusa" China, Hermes, Erte, Persian rugs, McIntosh stereo components, and other porcelain and art glass.
Hand-Knotted Persian Rugs include an incredible selection spanning the late 19th to early 20th centuries. The annual Purcellville Wine and Food Festival returns on Saturday, July 18, in Dillon’s Woods at the historic Fireman’s Field Complex (250 S. Nursery Avenue, Purcellville). The festival will take place from 2 to 8 p.m., inviting guests to gather with family and friends for an afternoon and evening of local wine, beer, food, live music, art, and more.
This year’s event will showcase 40 vendors, including wineries, breweries, food and snack vendors, and local exhibitors. Enjoy live music performances by the Rick Reaves Band, The Darby Brothers, and the Franklin Park Big Band. The “Arts in the Garden” section, hosted by the Purcellville Arts Council, will highlight local artists who will create works of art live on-site. Additional activities include face painting and a photo stand-in booth. 
Early bird ticket pricing is available through 5 p.m. on July 17: 
• Early bird admission (ages 17 and over): $5 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink tickets (6 oz wine or 12 oz beer): $8.50 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink ticket package: 4 tickets for $32 (+ tax) 
• Early bird bottle of wine purchase: $35 (+ tax), available from participating wineries (bottles must be consumed on-site)
A souvenir glass will be provided with the purchase of the first drink ticket. Save time and money by purchasing your tickets in advance. 
The popular VIP experience returns for $275 (+ tax) and includes admission for six, a reserved table for six, three bottles of local wine, six souvenir glasses, six drink tickets, early entry to the festival, special commemorative gifts, and a selection of sweets and savories for the table.
