Financially strapped Francis Henshall has taken on the job of servant to Roscoe Crabbe, a small-time East London hood who is trying to collect money from his fiancee's father. However, 'Roscoe' is really his twin sister 'Rachel'...who has been posing as her own dead brother...who was killed by her own boyfriend, Stanley Stubbers...for whom Francis also works as his servant.Still with us? The hilarity never stops in this award-winning slapstick farce throughout its knockabout quest to answer these simple questions: How can any man (especially Francis!) serve two masters without one finding out about the other? Can he pursue and win the girl he fancies? And, somehow, can he get a decent meal in the process? Peter Gardner - ICE, From Signal Hill William Boyce - Symphony No. 4 Benjamin Britten - Four Sea Interludes Ralph Vaughan Williams - Symphony No. 5 -- Mark Latham, Music Director --

We begin with a new work, ICE, From Signal Hill by Peter Gardner. This is a musical dramatization of an iceberg passing by the easternmost point in North America, Signal Hill in Newfoundland. "ICE" represents the dawn breaking over the Atlantic, revealing a giant iceberg passing southward, cracking in the sunlight.

The delightful Symphony No. 4 was created by the 18th century composer and musician William Boyce. Benjamin Britten's Four Sea Interludes are adapted from his opera "Peter Grimes." These evocative scenes depict Dawn, Sunday Morning, Moonlight, and Storm.

Our concert ends with Ralph Vaughan Williams acclaimed Symphony No. 5. Premiered in 1943 with the horrors of WW2 all around them, it was said that this "work’s ‘serene loveliness is completely satisfying in these times and shows, as only music can, what we must work for when this madness is over’."

Please join us for this respite from our day-to-day. The concert will be at MassBay Community College in Wellesley with a reception after the concert. MassBay is minutes from Rt 95, easy to get to with free parking. Great dining and shopping is minutes away in nearby Wellesley Square. Tickets are pay-what-you-can. We hope to see you there!
