Thursday Morning Club's Madison Community House

Do you love horror movies and helping to support your community? Join us for a fun and scary time and help us raise funds for our unhoused friends and neighbors to stay safe and warm this winter.Everyone needs and deserves a home, and the exclusion of some of our neighbors from housing is the biggest horror of our communities, a malignancy that targets a few but spreads its tendrils throughout our neighborhoods and society. It's an ongoing nightmare that many people will walk right by, intentionally keeping their gaze averted so they can try to feel safe from it. But the horror could turn its own gaze to you anyway. It could reach any of us.

If that's not scary enough for you, or if it's too scary for you, then come to our Halloween horror film screening for more scares and to raise funds to help keep some of our unhoused friends safe and warm with hotel stays through the upcoming cold months. It is not a solution, but it will help more people survive another year while we work to figure out long-term housing systems. The evil grows every year. But together, we can make real change.

Watch six films (not for children!) directed by local award-winning indie filmmaker Christine Jansen, followed by a Q&A. There will be food and drinks available by donation, and you can get your ticket with a minimum $20 gift ($30 for VIP) per ticket.

Venmo @ renee-shalhoub or send your gift by:

Zelle to info@mutualmorris.com or

Paypal at paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=PSDVN48CRQRQL

Note "film" in the comments or "sponsor" if you can't come but would like to sponsor a ticket for someone else who can't afford it.
$20 per person, or $30 VIP to get some swag and preferred seating
You can also contribute any time (even monthly as a recurring gift) to our Gofundme at gofundme.com/f/help-morris-county-stay-warm-this-winter
The more money we can raise, the more nights we can pay for to keep people off the cold and scary streets. Thank you for your support!

Mutual Morris is an award-winning and nationally known mutual aid group that started in 2020 to respond to people's needs during the Covid pandemic and we continue to work through all of the crises we face in this society. We are where people turn when mainstream systems fail. We are just regular people ourselves taking responsibility for the health of the collective communities we all live in. Because of the support of people like you, we have helped thousands of families across Morris County with food, diapers, medicine, transportation, clothing, companionship, emotional support, moving, and housing, and more.
