Local food trucks <a href="https://redsri.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Red’s Kitchen</a> and <a href="https://www.sebspizza.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Seb’s Woodfired Pizza</a> will be on hand, selling delicious treats.

Join us on the last Tuesday of each month, from March through May, for fun (and educational) hands-on learning at Blithewold! This year we will offer programs in science, history, and art. Each month, we explore intriguing topics in the arts, history, horticulture, environmental science, and climate change.
Indoor and outdoor learning experiences complete our curriculum, which aligns with RI, MA, and CT state standards. Between sessions, there is plenty of time to enjoy a nice picnic or run out some energy on the Great Lawn. Check our website for more information on our monthly themes and activities.
This is a drop-off program designed for Ages 8 – 13. An adult chaperone is required to remain on the Property for security.
Students are to check in at the Visitor Center, and one adult chaperone must remain on the property until pickup. Please bring a lunch, a refillable water bottle, and dress for the weather, as we often take our lessons outside! Lunch will be enjoyed from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Adult chaperones and younger siblings are welcome to picnic on the Grounds with the students.

Gather with friends and exchange stories while delighting in a cup of tea, freshly baked scones with clotted cream, and a three-tiered tray filled with sweet and savory treats. Simply luxurious! Come in, sit down, relax, and enjoy the moment.
The price includes admission to the Manor and Grounds, so plan to leave time for a stroll!

Join us as we create beautiful homes for toads in our garden. Toads are welcome guests that eat loads of insects and slugs that munch on our favorite plants. Using natural materials, we will provide snazzy new digs for these amazing creatures and learn about them, too! Each participant will make their own Toad Abode to take home. Materials are included.
Children ages 6 to 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Every child requires a ticket, as they will each make their own abode. Space is limited to 1 adult per child.

Experience the peace of Blithewold as the birds do! Environmental Educator Connie Ganley will guide you through our natural spaces to take in and connect with the early morning sights, sounds, and scents during this leisurely stroll. Research has shown that time spent in nature has healing and therapeutic health benefits. Unwind, recharge, and experience the benefits of “nature therapy” all day!
Please bring a water bottle and wear sturdy walking shoes. This program will take place rain or shine so please dress appropriately.

Create your own wooden spoon out of native hardwoods! Steve Emma has been crafting spoons for as long as he can remember, using found branches and reclaimed wood to create beautiful and functional pieces of art. Wood collected at Blithewold will be available to use, or you may bring a special piece. Please bring small wood chisels, work gloves, safety glasses, and a sense of humor! If you don’t have chisels, some will be available to borrow. No carving experience is necessary.

Restorative Yoga is a floor-based, gentle Yoga practice that uses a variety of props to help participants find comfortable, beneficial poses. These poses are beneficial for releasing tension, promoting relaxation, and fostering a sense of healing and renewal. No prior Yoga experience is necessary.

Join us for a deep dive into wine. In each class, we will taste five different wines from a variety of regions, compare and contrast them, and learn a little about grape varietals and winemaking practices, with a focus on wines that offer good value for your money. Discover a favorite new grape varietal or taste wines from a region you’ve never tried. We’ll be drinking wine and having a good time!
May 7: Sparkling Wines Learn about the different ways sparkling wine is made and how it impacts taste.
June 4: White Wines Learn about aromatic and non-aromatic grape varietals and how they impact winemaking and taste.
July 9: Summer Red Wines Learn some of the winemaking methods that impact the body of the wine. Find your favorite summer-friendly red wines to enjoy long after the class ends.
