ABOUT ME…

As a result of my own legal separation and divorce beginning in 2012, I realized that I was thrown into unfamiliar territory and perhaps lost and confused by all of the decisions to be made. While going through the legal divorce, I was also in the midst of an emotional divorce which made the arduous journey even more complex.

During this time period, while I had the support of friends and family, there was no one in my circle that had themselves gone through the divorce process. Those I knew would give me their own opinions but there was no one who was familiar with the business side of divorce, no one who was experiencing the same emotions and challenges as I was in becoming a single parent and no one else who was trying to protect themselves and their children both at the time and moving forward for many years to come. At the time of my separation, my youngest child was only three. Fortunately, my son was 13 and I already had some experience as to what was involved with raising a child both in terms of financial resources as well as scheduling needs.

My goal as a Certified Divorce Coach is to work with others thrown into the divorce process who need guidance, clarity and support.

I serve to be their thinking partner, helping clients clarify their hopes, wants, needs and not wants. I aim to provide emotional stability for parents by lessening the anxiety and confusion thus helping the parent as well as their children. I strive to provide support in all areas of the divorce process including the business side of divorce (including but not limited to, all thinking involved with: the preparation of net worth statements; assets such as bank accounts, retirement plans and the marital home) health insurance needs and costs; child support; spousal support, and, of course co-parenting with a former spouse and the development of parenting access schedules (otherwise known as visitation).

While the Attorneys assist with the legal process, the Accountants and CDFA’s project various financial scenarios and the therapists provide mental health support including medicinal intervention, the divorce coach serves their client as a guide, aiding them in making their own best decisions during this difficult time thus allowing them to lead the life they want and deserve.
