Volunteers, Neighbor

The countdown has begun to the 2015 Wisconsin Highland Games, Friday, September 4 - Sunday, September 6 at the Waukesha County Expo Center. My name is Dena Sparks and I am the volunteer coordinator for the Wisconsin SCOTTISH. We are looking to staff our wonderful event with as many smiling Wisconsin SCOTTISH member and friend's faces as possible.

The Wisconsin SCOTTISH would not be able to host these great games without volunteers like you! In exchange for a two hour volunteer shift, you will receive free admission to our wonderful games! Please let me know where you would like to lend your talents this year. If you are interested in the same job as last year, that's great! If you would like to try something new, we can do that too! Some job opportunities are:

Ticket taking - entrance gate (a lot of standing and greeting)

Checking in participants - dancers, athletes, pipers, etc (sitting, can be busy)

Children's area - face painting, helping with crafts, passing out prizes

Heavy Athletics - retrieving heavy things, measuring distances, etc ( a lot of walking, bending, and carrying)

Archery/Long bow - retrieving arrows (lots of walking and bending)

Let me know where you would like to lend a hand and a couple of hours. As usual, the beer tents are staffed by the vendors.

Please spread the word. . . Any organization that requires their members to complete volunteer hours is welcome and encouraged to volunteer at the Wisconsin Highland Games. This is a great opportunity to get in some volunteer time over the summer while having a lot of fun!
