William (Coach Bill) Hall grew up at his family's archery range, being exposed to, and trained in, all aspects of the highest levels of archery by his family of World and National Champion archers.
At the age of 11, young "Billy" began his own journey as a competitive archer. In the years to follow, he has won more than 40 State Championship events, 11 U.S. Eastern Regional Championships and a National Junior Championship. He has also taken home top honors at many other major archery tournaments, including the Las Vegas Open and Atlantic City Archery Classic. Equally successful with both a recurve and compound bow, he has set, and still holds, several State, New England and U.S. Eastern Regional scoring records, and was an Olympic Trials competitor in 1992. He is the current State and New England Champion, and finished 3rd in the 2016 NFAA National Championship. He is also on the National Field Archery Association Board of Directors, as the representative from Connecticut.
Coach Bill has been an archery coach for over 20 years, and has taught more than 10,000 individuals how to shoot archery. His students have captured dozens of State, New England and U.S. Eastern Regional championships, with four of his students having won National Junior Championship events (two of them from right here in Tolland, CT!)
Beyond these many tournament successes, Coach Bill's proudest accomplishment lies with those students who never see competition. Archery has presented him a unique opportunity to help those students who have had a hard time finding success in conventional, team sports and helped them find confidence, make new friends and learn life lessons that they can carry with them to help them become champions in anything they do in life.
