• Davis County tornado sets Utah record at 1.1 miles wide near Francis Peak (kutv.com) — A record-breaking tornado cut across the mountains of Davis and Morgan counties on Sept. 18, snapping century-old pines and flattening aspen groves near Middle Smith Lake and Peterson. While no injuries were reported, the National Weather Service says the 1.1-mile-wide twister set a new Utah record, underscoring the power of recent storms affecting Morgan-area backcountry.
