1. Salt Lake City sets new daily nonresidential water use cap, but it's willing to go lower (ksl.com) — Salt Lake City has permanently capped daily water use for most new nonresidential buildings at 200,000 gallons, and city leaders are already studying whether to tighten that limit further. The council's unanimous vote follows drought concerns, heavy reliance on Deer Creek Reservoir, and a now-scrapped federal detention project that would have required massive water consumption.

2. College GOP Chairman threatens University of Utah with legal action amid investigation into alleged doxxing incident (abc4.com) — University of Utah officials are investigating alleged threats and doxxing involving College Republicans, prompting national GOP student leaders to threaten legal action against the school. Emails to student leaders cite possible expulsion over "threatening or endangering behavior," while the university says it's balancing safety with free speech. No students have yet been expelled or formally sanctioned.

3. How are 3 Utah colleges responding to low campus speech grades? (deseret.com) — Students at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City just saw their campus earn a D- for free speech in a national FIRE survey, with criticism over event signage and an overall chilly climate for controversial topics. Utah Valley University and Utah State also scored poorly, though all three schools insist they're committed to open debate, institutional neutrality, and peaceful protest.

4. 'I got out of Hell': Youngest known survivor of Nazi doctor's twin experiments at Auschwitz during the Holocaust speaks (abc4.com) — More than a thousand people at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City heard Holocaust survivor Sora Vigorito recount her childhood ordeal as a twin subjected to Josef Mengele's experiments at Auschwitz. Speaking candidly about loss, numbness, and rebuilding a life in America, she urged students to confront darkness while holding onto the possibility of light and resilience.

5. Arkansas beatdown showcased improved Utah defense (abc4.com) — Utah fans in Salt Lake City just watched the Utes' defense dominate Arkansas, piling up sacks, tackles for loss, and holding the Razorbacks to only 61 rushing yards.
