• A plane controlled from California just landed in Utah. Air taxis could be next. (sltrib.com) — An autonomously controlled Joby Aviation plane, flown remotely from California, successfully landed at Salt Lake City Airport as Utah officials watched from a UDOT hangar. State leaders say the test will guide safety rules and infrastructure for future electric air taxis, which could eventually shuttle everyday passengers around Utah, expand rural medical access, and assist with wildfire response ahead of the 2034 Olympics.
• General Conference Day 2: Members hear from President, several key leaders (abc4.com) — Salt Lake City hosted the second day of the LDS Church's 196th semiannual General Conference, where President Dallin H. Oaks and other apostles addressed members in person and online. Oaks invited the public to next year's Salt Lake Temple Celebration, including open-house tours and a new "Dedicate" video series with virtual access for those who can't attend in person.
• The 5 worst U.S. airports for flight connections: survey (cleveland.com) — Salt Lake City travelers should know that SLC ranks third-worst in the nation for tight flight connections, according to a new survey. Researchers found it can take more than 20 minutes to get between some gates, meaning locals with short layovers may want to plan extra time or reconsider tight itineraries when connecting through the airport.
