- Fortune and IBM Watson have named Utah's Intermountain Heart Institute as one of the nation's Top 50 cardiovascular hospitals. The study by Fortune and IBM Watson draws on independent, objective research and has evaluated cardiovascular hospitals every year since 1998. (ABC 4)
- Amid the omicron surge, The Salt Lake Chamber wants businesses to support Utah schools by allowing interested employees to sluff workdays and fill in as substitute teachers. Fulfilled substitute requests in the Salt Lake School District have fallen to 56% compared to 65-75% at the beginning of the school year. Granite School District is also experiencing shortages. - Salt Lake City's mayor focused on affordable housing and air quality in her State of the City address. On looming issues like homelessness and COVID-19, with many aspects beyond the control of city government, Mayor Mendenhall said "complexity cannot be a justification for timidity" as she called for boldness, ambition, and creativity in addressing complex problems facing residents of Utah's largest city. - A Real Housewives of SLC star has been fired from the reality TV show after old social media posts have surfaced. Jennie Nguyen issued an apology for Twitter posts that "appeared to advocate for violence against protesters during the racial justice protests in 2020."
