- As the Utah State Legislature began its legislative session in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, Utah Senate President Stuart Adams said he tested negative for COVID-19 even though he tested positive on Tuesday morning, twice. The senator also did not wear a mask during his opening remarks in the Senate chamber. (KSL.com)
- Due to the stratospheric rise of COVID-19 cases in Utah ahead of the upcoming flu season, many diners are continuing to choose to eat dinner at home. But that's not to say they're cooking dinner at home. Upscale restaurants in Salt Lake City are still adapting to handle the switch to takeout as they respond to the demand and strive to stay in business. (Subscription: Salt Lake Tribune)
- As the U.S. has opened up to receive refugees from Afghanistan, Utah has responded by pledging to resettle 750 Afghans by the end of 2022. According to an announcement from the Transportation Security Administration this week, Salt Lake City International Airport broke its existing records for the number of firearms that were discovered in travelers' carry-on luggage in 2021.
