🌱 Median Home Price In SLC Is How Much!? + New SLC Air Quality Report

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Salt Lake City.

Hey, neighbors, I'm back! Joseph Peterson here with the latest issue of the Salt Lake City Daily.

First, today's weather:

A couple of morning showers. High: 54 Low: 39.

Here are the top five stories today in Salt Lake City:

  1. A Salt Lake woman who was found selling counterfeit COVID-19 tests in 2021 at the Salt Lake City International Airport, now officially faces a federal felony charge for the offense. Prosecutors say Linda Tufui Toli worked for a company at the airport that did offer COVID-19 tests for travelers going to destinations that required them, but that her scheme diverted payments for phony tests into her personal financial accounts. (KSL.com)
  2. Good News. A new report has found that Salt Lake City's air quality has improved, albeit slightly. The American Lung Association reported that the SLC Metro area has recorded its "lowest ever" measurement for short-term particle pollution, dropping three spots in its ranking for worst air quality in the nation from 17th to 20th. Meanwhile St. George ranked among the cleanest cities for short-term particle pollution. (Subscription: Salt Lake Tribune)
  3. As Salt Lake housing prices continue to rise, a new milestone has been set. Median home prices for single-family homes in Salt Lake County have now for the first time exceeded $600,000. And not just exceeded, but flown by, as that figure is more specifically $628,975, according to UtahRealEstate.com. It represents a staggering 26% jump from March 2021, when that marker hit half a million. Home sales in Salt Lake, however, continue to drop. (KUTV 2News)
