Philanthropy - Local Cottonwood Heights Opportunities

Philanthropy is when we give our time, talents or resources to benefit causes that matter most. Article by Ryan Van Wagenen in Cottonwood.

Oftentimes when we think of the word “philanthropy” we think of multi-billion dollar charities run by billionaires like Bill Gates.

Historically, the word “philanthropy” creates images in our heads of famous billionaires or well-known leaders donating millions of dollars for special global causes. It’s important to realize that the times are changing and we are now in a new era where anyone can be known as a philanthropist.

We can all do something! And when we get united behind a cause we can collectively make a huge impact. I firmly believe that every Salt Lake City community member can be a philanthropist by giving their time, talents or resources to benefit causes that matter most to them in the area. Each one of us is at a different stage of our life and so what we give is unique to us as individuals.
