🌱For The Price Is Right, This Is The Place + Lt Gov On SLC's Namesake

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Salt Lake City.

Hooray, it's Friday! Let's get the weekend-eve started with everything you need to know going on around Salt Lake City today.

First, today's weather:

Times of sun and clouds. High: 75 Low: 57.

Here are the top three stories today in Salt Lake City:

  1. Sixth graders at Boulton Elementary School in Bountiful learned the importance of empathy and service, and picked up a life skill of sewing as well, as they sewed and stuffed teddy bears for Ukrainian refugees. They shipped nearly 100 bears to the war-torn country through the organization Dolls of Hope. Teacher Kirsten McNeal notes the moment a boy in Ukraine held one of the bears to his cheek as when it really hit home for her that this was one of the best things her students could have done. (KUTV 2News)
  2. Issues of the Great Salt Lake's dangerously low water levels have been in the news and of top concern to many Utahns for years, but this week, Utah's Lt. Governor Deidre Henderson took a boat tour of the lake that is the capital's namesake for the first time. Her first-hand witness reiterated what has been known for a long time, saying "we saw a lake that was really low and in dire need of attention," adding that letting the lake dry up wasn't an option but that it would take everyone working together over the long haul to a healthier, thriving ecosystem. (KJZZ)
  3. Coming to a theater near you, it's 'The Price is Right.' The new theatrical and untelevised version of the long-running TV game show will take to the Eccles Theater in downtown Salt Lake City this fall. In this in-person interactive experience, audience members will still get a chance to become contestants as they will be invited to "come on down!" to the stage and play the game to win actual prizes, like a neeeeeew car!
