π± SLC Police Chief Speaks On Crime In Ballpark + New UT Time Capsule
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Salt Lake City.
Good morning, Salt Lake City! Let's get this Wednesday started. Here's everything you need to know about what's happening today in the 801.
First, today's weather:
Mostly sunny. High: 81 Low: 59.
Here are the top three stories today in Salt Lake City:
- After a deadly stabbing on State Street over the weekend, Salt Lake City Police Chief Mike Brown addressed crime concerns in the city's Ballpark neighborhood. While he laid out the response and outcome of that stabbing as great police work, many residents and business owners in the neighborhood are still unsettled and even more concerned about how things will ramp up during the summer. (KUTV 2News)
- Later today, Utah Governor Spencer Cox will oversee the replacement of a 1914 time capsule at the state capitol with a new one that won't be opened until 100 years from now. The new time capsule is expected to contain letters videos and other items indicative of Utah today, but the specifics will remain a secret until it is opened in 2122. (ABC4.com)
- A new show is coming to Utah's Hogle Zoo and it's going to feature an animal we all see a lot of but that doesn't show up in zoos that often. The show is called Canine Champions for Conservation and it will play at the zoo's Wildlife Theater, featuring, you guessed it, domestic dogs. But these aren't just any household pets, the dogs in this show are highly skilled and trained rescue dogs, promising to bring a high-energy show for the whole family to enjoy. (Gephardt Daily)
