Small Private Philanthropists Make A Difference - Cottonwood

Although the philanthropists we often hear about are famous billionaires, many small private philanthropists have helped create some of the most important charitable movements of the past century including:

• Nearly curing the polio disease globally
• Complimentary and discounted lunches for needy school children in America
• Launching 911 for emergency services
• Establishing marriage for same-sex couples in the US

It’s hard to imagine what it would be like if someone had not focused on each of these very important causes.

We really are blessed to have such a great philanthropic community here in Cottonwood Heights. If you haven’t heard of it, the Nonprofits Association (UNA) is a group worth becoming familiar with. The UNA’s group mission is to unify, strengthen and elevate the nonprofits in the state.

• November 1st from 5-6:30pm – Local government panel discussion to help you and your cause engage with local city and county government officials. Discover new, creative, and more effective ways nonprofits and governments can partner together. The challenges facing our State are too complex and multi-layered to try to solve independently.

• November 29th from 3-4:30pm- Local government panel discussion to help you and your cause engage with local city and county government officials in order to discover new and creative ways nonprofits and governments can partner together more effectively.

Each event is designed specifically to help inspire local community members to give of time, talents and resources and make an impact here in the state.
