🌱 UTA Announces Free Fare February + Shed Hunting Ethics Course

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Salt Lake City.

Happy Wednesday, Salt Lake City! Here's everything you need to know about what's happening in town today.

First, today's weather:

Partly sunny. High: 38 Low: 21.

Here are the top 3 stories in Salt Lake City today:

  1. Utah Transit Authority leaders joined with elected officials on "transit day" to announce that UTA would be fare-free for the month of February in an effort to curb pollution and combat poor air quality. Meanwhile, a bill to make public transit free all year long has been introduced in the State Legislature. (KUTV 2)
  2. Shedding is a popular winter activity, and like all outdoor activities, it's also growing in popularity. Looking ahead to the time of year when most deer, elk, and moose shed their antlers and the search for them surges, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is reminding the public of a mandatory ethics course before folks head out. (ABC 4)
  3. As a redefined vision of Salt Lake's premier downtown park is presented, the discussion is centered around looking to create a dynamic space that fulfills its potential. While thousands head to Pioneer Park on Saturdays for the popular farmers' market, it can be an underutilized location the rest of the week. The new plan would help fill it out and bring folks to the park on a more consistent basis for a variety of purposes and activities. (KSL.com)
