From now on WEEY is streaming country music due to a change in ownership.

The sale leaves the region with no sports - including Celtics, Bruins and the NFL - on the airwaves.

“Another WEEI/Red Sox station bites the dust,” said Boston Radio Watch. “Full ownership change means format flip. They're falling like flies.”

WEEI 93.5 broadcast in southern Vermont and Keene, NH as WEEY, which has been sold to Community Media.

“We want to sincerely thank our listeners, advertisers, community partners, and everyone who has been part of this incredible journey over the past 20 years,” station officials posted on Facebook. “It has been an absolute pleasure serving our community, bringing to you the best New England sports coverage.”

The programming change comes amid major cutbacks by IHeartMedia, a nationwide radio conglomerate that owns WEEI, known as New England's Sports Network.
