(Patch Media)

Hey, Burlington! It's Saturday, so let's get you started with everything you need to know going on today in town.

First, today's weather:

Flurries; windy, frigid. High: 8 Low: 1.

Here are the top three stories in Burlington today:

  1. As 89% of Vermont restaurants have suffered a decline in customers since the spike in omicron cases, the state's Chamber of Commerce is calling on lawmakers to replenish the Restaurant Revitalization Fund. The $28 billion-plus distributed last year is believed to have saved 3,000 foodservice jobs across the state. Leaders believe that additional funding could save more than 4,000 jobs in Vermont, many of which are at risk. (WCAX)
  2. U.S. Marshals and Burlington Police have arrested a violent fugitive after tracking him to a local VFW. 42-year-old Darryl Hendrickson of Burlington was wanted following a violent incident last month. Officials caught up with him at the Burlington VFW on Thursday afternoon; though Hendrickson attempted to run from the police, he was arrested without incident. (WCAX)
  3. Lawmakers announced Thursday that six Vermont-based arts organizations will receive a combined $500,000 from the federal American Rescue Plan Act. Among the recipients are three Burlington-area organizations: the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts, the Vermont Stage Company, and Burlington City Arts Foundation. (Vermont Biz)
