Here are the top three stories in Burlington today:
- Vermont tested its Amber Alert system on Thursday afternoon. The test sent a message to thousands of Vermont cell phones subscribed to Vermont Alert. The Agency of Transportation tested its roadway alert boards during the testing period. Anyone who wants to sign up for Vermont Alert can register on the state's Emergency Management website. (NBC 5)
- The Vermont City Marathon will resume its full race on May 29. This year's race will be the official comeback after its rescheduled and shortened COVID-19 version. - Two Burlington area students have been nationally recognized during this year's U.S. Presidential Scholars event. Rebecca Cunningham of Burlington High School and Sriram Sethuraman of South Burlington High School were recognized during the Secretary of Education's announcement.
