Burlington-Winooski Bridge listed for sale on Craigslist (mychamplainvalley.com) — Burlington residents may soon see big changes to the historic Burlington-Winooski Bridge, which the state is offering for free to anyone who will relocate and preserve it. The 1928 span no longer meets safety needs, and Vermont has secured a $22.7 million grant to build a wider, more modern replacement with better bike and pedestrian access starting in 2028.

Fortin of Milton, this Chittenden Probate Court notice explains how to file a claim, with the Burlington courthouse listed for copies. UVM launches $19 million observatory to unlock the secrets of neurobiology (wcax.com) — Researchers at UVM in Burlington are leading a new $19 million National Science Foundation project to design an observatory for 3D brain mapping. Over the next five years, they'll run pilot studies that could eventually improve understanding of brain diseases and therapies, putting Burlington scientists at the center of cutting-edge neurobiology work.
5. What does September's weather mean for fall foliage in Vermont? (burlingtonfreepress.com) — Recent weather around Burlington has been seasonably warm with cool nights and drier-than-normal conditions, about an inch below average rainfall. Forecasters say that while this dryness may slightly dull peak color, Vermont is still on track for a gradual, vibrant foliage season from late September into early October.
