π± Brownfield Site Redevelopment Plan + Car Thefts Increase
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Burlington.

Hello, neighbors! Danielle Fallon here with the Wednesday edition of the Burlington Daily.
First, today's weather:
Partly sunny. High: 66 Low: 49.
Here are the top three stories today in Burlington:
- The brownfield property at 453 Pine Street will be redeveloped into a Nordic bathhouse and bowling alley. The $6 million cleanup of the contaminated property is being funded through a special fund meant to rehabilitate brownfield sites. The bathhouse is named Silt Botanica Bathhouse and the bowling alley is named Backside Bowl. (Seven Days)
- Burlington residents can now sign up for eight more free COVID-19 testing kits. The kits are being supplied through the federal government and can be requested through the online portal by clicking here. Those needing a rapid test performed before the tests arrive can get a free rapid test performed at a local Vermont Department of Health testing location. (Burlington Free Press)
- South Burlington Police are reporting a significant increase in the number of stolen cars. Officers have arrested 28-year-old Marlon Taylor, who they believe is responsible for a majority of the recent thefts, but they are still reminding the community to remain vigilant. The best way to prevent theft is to lock car doors and secure keys. (WCAX)
