The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Burlington.

Morning, friends. It's me, Danielle Fallon, your host of the Burlington Daily — here to tell you everything that's fit to print about what's happening in town these days.
First, today's weather:
Cooler with low clouds. High: 65 Low: 45.
Here are the top three stories today in Burlington:
- Vermont State Police reports that a Burlington man has died at a swimming hole in Bolton. Cody Surprise, 21, did not resurface after jumping from a rock ledge into a pool of water on Saturday. Authorities report that the river current was very strong during the incident and that unsafe swimming conditions caused the unfortunate death. (Boston News, Weather, Sports | WHDH 7News)
- A South Burlington man has been indicted on federal charges after allegedly making violent threats toward three people in the state's criminal justice system. Joshua Puma, 35, has been accused of threatening to kill a judge and a defense attorney as well as threatening to sexually assault a prosecutor. Unrelated to the current indictment, Puma pleaded guilty to assault in 2019 for punching his own defense attorney in the face. (Local 22/44 News)
- The City of Burlington's pod plan for the city's homeless population will reportedly not be ready until at least November. The plan will erect 30 modular units that will be able to house up to two individuals at a time. The delayed opening date is due to supply chain issues and a shortage in organizations applying to manage the site. (vtdigger.org)
