Here are the top three stories in Burlington today:

  1. The Burlington City Council will be reviewing four different options for redistricting maps. The maps will consist of re-drawn ward boundaries to adjust for recent population shifts. Click the link for a full description of each proposed map option. (WCAX)
  2. Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger and Acting Police Chief Jon Murad have unveiled a new public safety plan. The new plan is meant to address ongoing safety concerns that the community has in the center city area. The Downtown Public Safety and Activation Plan reportedly combine a new police deployment scheme with recreational activity. (WAMC)
  3. Burlington will now be utilizing ranked-choice voting for its City Council races. The new voting system has been approved through a charter change. Vermont Governor Phil Scott did not sign or veto the measure but reported that he did not support ranked-choice voting. Since he didn't veto or sign, the system has become law. (WCAX)
