Here are the top three stories in Burlington today:

  1. A Quebec man who brought 300 kilograms of cocaine to a Burlington hotel has been sentenced to 63 months in prison. Georges Yaghmour, 40, unknowingly sold the cocaine to undercover DEA agents for $570,000 in cash. The investigation was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force operation that focuses on dismantling high-level international drug organizations. (Department of Justice)
  2. A new battery-powered social services outreach vehicle is being used by the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity in Burlington. Gone are the days of running a fossil-fuel-powered generator to run Wi-Fi, lights, and small electronics while helping the homeless in hard-to-reach Vermont areas. The new vehicle uses a battery installed by Green Mountain Solar. (WPTZ)
  3. Burlington-based Ben & Jerry's has revived the Dublin Mudslide flavor, just in time for St. Patrick's Day weekend. The revival has a new twist, however. The Dublin Mudslide will now feature a tint of a spirit made from whey. Wheyward Spirit is described as being a fusion of sake and vodka. (PR Newswire)
