Here are the top three stories in Burlington today:
- Researchers with the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine search for better treatment plans for colorectal cancer. Approximately 52,580 people will die from this particular type of cancer this year, according to the American Cancer Society. In a new paper published by the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine, they outline an approved that focuses more on local therapies that hopefully have fewer side effects. (WCAX)
- The Burlington Police Department is asking the community to help them locate a suspect who is related to a string of robberies in the Burlington area. The department has issued a warrant for Lance F. Mason, 51-years-old, in relation to several of the robberies. Mason is described as a 5'10 white male weighing roughly 165 pounds. Those with information have been directed to contact the department. (Burlington Patch)
- Delays for travelers at the Burlington airport were caused by recent icy weather in the region. Travelers were met with uncertainty as airport staff worked to clear runways. Despite winter weather delays, the airport is seeing a dramatic increase in travelers after the pandemic started. (WCAX)
