- The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission is requesting community feedback on its Hazard Mitigation Plan. The commission will use resident input to address concerns within the county, ranging from flooding issues to infrastructure feedback to pandemic planning. - A Burlington business owner has big plans to launch a buy-local alternative to Amazon. Local entrepreneur Bill Calfee founded Myti, an e-commerce platform connecting shoppers with local businesses, in 2020. Myti has reportedly begun testing its system with nearly 150 products sold by Chittenden County merchants. (Seven Days)
- Police departments across the state are finding creative strategies to recruit and retain officers. The South Burlington Police Department is now offering hiring bonuses, while the Burlington Police Department has implemented hiring and retention bonuses. The focus on recruitment and retention comes amid a nationwide shortage of police officers. (WCAX)
