Here are the top three stories in Burlington today:
- Champlain College announced its first esports varsity team. Esports is a growing phenomenon and Champlain College seeks to provide an outlet for their students who are interested in the activity. The new program is seen as one of the top gaming programs in the country. (WCAX)
- Hundreds of Burlington travelers have had their flights canceled due to snow, particularly to major hub airports like New York, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. On Thursday, cancellations began at the Burlington International Airport because of the recent severe winter storm that has impacted the region. Nearly 15 flights were canceled Friday afternoon, with some staff members instructed to remain at home. (Local 22/44 News)
- University of Vermont school trustees are getting a sneak peek of the new Patrick Gym. The new facility costs $24 million and offers a new cycling studio, dance rooms, and yoga space. The project's first phase is estimated to be completed by this summer. (WCAX3)
