Here are the top three stories today in Burlington:

  1. Amtrak's Ethan Allen Express will soon start service in the Queen City. The 59-mph passenger train will leave Burlington in the morning hours and travel to New York City. VTrans has reportedly been trying to add Burlington to the Ethan Allen Express for over a decade. (WCAX)
  2. UVM Medical Center, Central Vermont Medical Center, and Rutland Regional Medical Center are requesting a rate hike from Vermont health care regulators. The hike is a nine and ten percent increase. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont is opposed to the rate increase since it will put an extra burden on the community. (WCAX)
  3. Governor Phil Scott and the Agency of Commerce and Community Development have announced $2.83 million is being added to the brownfield site cleanup project. The state is reportedly investing $25 million this fiscal year to turn brownfield sites into useable locations. Click the link for the full list of brownfield sites. (Vermont Biz)
