Here are the top three stories today in Burlington:

  1. Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont has introduced legislation that targets Major League Baseball's antitrust exemption. The bill is called the Save American Baseball Act and was unveiled on Tuesday during the senator's appearance on Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. The legislation seeks to remove the special antitrust protections the League has had since 1922. (The Hill)
  2. Burlington area schools' PCB testing may take longer than originally estimated. The Vermont agencies of Education and Natural Resources want to push the deadline to 2026. The deadline change is reportedly to allow a more realistic timeline for the testing to occur. (WCAX)
  3. A bill meant to save independent pharmacies passed the Vermont House on Wednesday. The bill seeks to limit benefit managers' control over pharmacists while providing more transparency on drug costs. The bill was sponsored by State Representative Mari Cordes. (Local 22/44 News)
