  1. Burlington is planning a new outdoor market to be held at City Hall Park this summer. The market is being called BTV MKT and will feature various goods every Saturday starting on Jun. 4. The new market will be in direct competition with the existing farmers' market on Pine Street, but organizers are reportedly not worried about the BTV MKT taking away business. (Seven Days)
  2. During the annual address, Mayor Miro Weinberger assures the Burlington community that the city remains strong.   3. Despite the omicron variant being detected in Burlington wastewater, the Vermont State Epidemiologist remains optimistic about transmission rates. According to the Vermont Department of Health, the state has not seen a surge in cases and hospitals are not struggling with COVID-19 patients. The new subvariant is reportedly more transmissible than the omicron variant. (WPTZ)
