Here are the top three stories today in Burlington:
- Vermont Attorney General T.J. Donovan has announced a federal lawsuit against illegal robocalls, specifically against T.C.A. VOIP. The complaint alleges that the California-based company has flooded Vermont with robocalls spoofing the 802 area code. The calls are impersonating the Social Security Administration. (WPTZ)
- Senator Patrick Leahy is working to deliver more than $755,000 to Champlain College’s Leahy Center for Digital Forensics & Cybersecurity through an Omnibus Appropriations bill. The funds will be used to improve cybersecurity throughout the state. The center provides cyber security for community-based organizations while offering hands-on learning for Burlington students. (WCAX)
- Some Burlington property owners are using DNA to track pet waste perpetrators. Starting Apr. 1, Farrell Properties will begin PooPrints, a program designed to collect and track dog DNA to ensure pet owners clean up their pet's waste. The property owner hopes that the program will keep shared spaces cleaner while protecting the environment. (WCAX)
