Here are the top three stories in Burlington today:

1. The University of Vermont Medical Center has reopened an operating room at the Burlington main campus. The room was originally closed for renovations of the filtration, ventilation, and air conditioning systems which were causing sub-optimal airflow. The Medical Center hopes to open the other operating rooms but is waiting on additional staff and a decline in pandemic-related patients. (Local 22/44 News)
2. The Vermont Agency of Transportation is trading its snow plows for equipment to repair potholes in the Burlington area. The crews will be providing a temporary fix for the potholes. A more permanent solution will be provided during the upcoming construction season. (WCAX)
3. Burlington's GROW Prenatal & Family Center is seeking to offer children an alternative to screen time. Children have seen a dramatic increase in screen time due to the pandemic, according to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Grow Prenatal & Family Center is offering a space for families to leave their electronic devices in the lobby while they exercise and balance out the harmful effects of rising screen time. (WCAX)
