Here are the top stories in Burlington today:

  1. Police say they have arrested the primary suspect in a shooting outside the University Mall last week. Hieheem "Kieemi" Kirkland, 29, was seen shooting at another man in the back parking lot of the mall last Monday. They say the Winooski man targeted his victim because of a relationship with a woman.   2. Military anthems from all five service branches were played at Battery Park in Burlington Thursday to honor veterans. Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger was joined by Senator Patrick Leahy and Congressman Peter Welch in saluting the troops. Along with calling for more housing for homeless veterans, Leahy says the country must do its part to give back to those who have served. (WCAX)
