• Woman arrested in Fair Haven (newportdispatch.com) — Police responded to a report of an unwanted person on Dutton Avenue in Fair Haven and arrested a 61-year-old Wallingford woman for violating court-ordered conditions of release related to alcohol use. Officers found her face down in a driveway and highly intoxicated, then cited her to Rutland District Court and took her to Rutland Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
   

• Slate Valley school district refuses ransom following cyberattack (wcax.com) — Slate Valley Unified School District, based in Fair Haven, is recovering from a September cyberattack that exposed staff records and business documents, but officials refused to pay the ransom. With legal guidance, the school board kept schools open using workarounds, believes student data was not leaked, and is working with law enforcement while notifying affected employees.
