70-Year-Old Waynesboro Man Found In Submerged Vehicle In Arrington: Police

A 70-year-old man was found dead in the driver's seat of a car submerged in Lake Nelson on Monday, police say.

ARRINGTON, VA – A 70-year-old Waynesboro man was found dead inside a vehicle submerged in Lake Nelson on Monday, local police report.

According to the Nelson County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to reports of a partially submerged vehicle at Lake Nelson in Arrington at 6:49 a.m. There, they found a passenger vehicle in the water about 30 yards from a publicly accessible boat ramp.

In the driver's seat, they found Graham Isaac Bolter of Waynesboro, deputies say. The incident remains under investigation.

Wintergreen Fire and Rescue assisted with the recovery, along with the Virginia State Police Dive Unit.
