Two men were injured in a double shooting Saturday night, just days after two non-students were involved in another shooting on campus.

RICHMOND, VA – Two men were injured in a double shooting on Saturday night at Virginia Union University, just four days after another man was injured in a separate on-campus shooting, according to reports.

It is not clear whether the injured men were students.

According to Virginia Statewide Incidents, a large crowd had gathered near the school's main dining hall as part of the university's homecoming celebration. Police believe the shooting stemmed from an altercation that escalated, and that there is no ongoing threat to the campus.

Just four days earlier, another man was shot in the campus' Claude G. Perkings Living and Learning Center parking lot. According to WIRC, that incident, which took place at about 10 p.m. on Tuesday, involved two men, neither of whom were students. Police said there were "two assailants" in that incident, and one shot the other. The wounded man's injury was not considered life-threatening.

The Virginia Union University National Alumni Association President Elise Green-Scott issued a statement, saying, "It is deeply unfortunate that our University has experienced another troubling incident on campus. Yet even in moments such as these, my faith remains steadfast. More than ever, this is a time for us to unite, stand together, and fervently pray for our beloved Alma Mater."

No arrests have been reported so far.

Virginia Union University is a historically Black university founded by the American Baptist Home Mission Society in 1865. According to the university, there were about 2,000 enrolled students in September.
