• Reminder: Duke Street Land Use Plan Draft Plan Release Celebration, Community Meeting #9 (alexandriava.gov) — Alexandria residents are being asked to weigh in on the Draft Duke Street Land Use Plan at a community meeting tomorrow, Sept. 29, 7–9 p.m., at Patrick Henry Recreation Center and via Zoom. Expect a presentation, Q&A, open house-style feedback, free food, childcare, and language interpretation, plus 30 days of online public comment for those who can't attend.
   

• ACPS to restore bus service for eligible students by Oct. 5 after walk zone pushback (alxnow.com) — Alexandria City Public Schools will restore bus service by Oct. 5 for students newly deemed eligible after families pushed back against expanded walk zones. Officials told the School Board they are reviewing hazardous intersections, especially near Arlandria and the West End, and will notify every family about transportation decisions by Sept. 30 via ParentSquare.
   

• Alexandria Choral Society Welcomes Cheryl Lovinsky as New Chorus Manager (thezebra.org) — Alexandria singers have a new behind-the-scenes leader as longtime musician and nonprofit professional Cheryl Lovinsky steps in as chorus manager for the nearly 90-member Alexandria Choral Society. She'll handle auditions, logistics, and communications so performers can focus on music, supporting a group that has enriched the city's cultural life for more than 50 years.
