Today's riddle: Why did the girl pig break up with the boy pig? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Supervisors approve office-to-residential conversion in Annandale (annandaletoday.com) — Fairfax County supervisors have approved converting a mostly vacant office building at 7620 Little River Turnpike in Annandale into 39 apartments above the existing Wells Fargo branch, adding new housing and park space right in the community's core. The project will upgrade streetscapes, create an urban park with a plaza and café-style space, and may represent the first phase of a broader mixed-use redevelopment on the site.
• Public Safety - Week of October 2, 2026 (fairfaxtimes.com) — A Fairfax County grand jury has indicted a Maryland man in the November 2025 killing of a woman outside her workplace in Annandale, with trial set for January 2027. The same public safety roundup details several other recent county cases, including a fatal e-bike crash in Fairfax, a Springfield jewelry store robbery, a deadly I-395 pursuit crash, and major sentencings in Herndon and Bailey's Crossroads.
• Tysons apartment costs rise, other areas of county see drop in new data (ffxnow.com) — Annandale renters are seeing some relief, with median apartment prices around $2,184 overall and down about 5% from last year, according to new September data. The report compares Annandale's drop with trends in Tysons, Reston, and neighboring jurisdictions, and explains how the broader D.C. and national rental markets are cooling after post-pandemic peaks.
