Closed signs were on the doors of the Courthouse restaurant at 2111 Wilson Blvd. on Monday, ARLnow reported. A sign invited customers to visit the nearest Corner Bakery location on L Street NW in the District of Columbia.
The Dallas-based chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Delaware Bankruptcy Court on Feb. 22, according to Nation's Restaurant News. The chain has struggled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and fewer people working in offices.
In 2020, Corner Bakery was purchased by Pandya Restaurant Growth Brands, which also owns Boston Market. At the time, Corner Bakery had 175 locations, The Dallas Morning News reported Monday.
The company’s website currently shows 140 locations across 20 states, including three in D.C., one in Fair Oaks and one in Bethesda, Maryland.
