ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington residents will have four chances this spring to catch free live jazz at Metropolitan Park in National Landing.
Jazz @ Met is scheduled for Thursday, May 7, May 21, June 4 and June 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. on the Central Green at Metropolitan Park, 1330 South Fair St., Arlington. The outdoor series is hosted by the National Landing BID in partnership with the DC Jazz Festival and sponsored by Amazon, according to a release.
The series will feature a mix of styles, including New Orleans jazz, Brazilian rhythms, go-go-inspired jazz and acoustic sets. The event is free and open to the public, and reservations are encouraged through Eventbrite. Guests are encouraged in the announcement to bring a blanket or chair.

The series also will include hands-on art activities presented by artists from the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington Innovation Studio.
They include “Even Colors Dance” on May 7, led by David Ignacio; “Paper Garden” on May 14, led by Jaqui Falkenheim of Arlington Collage Collective; “Stitching Systems: Mapping Home” on June 4, led by Lauren Crawford; and “Day Inking with JD” on June 18, led by JD Deardourff.
Metropolitan Park is about an eight-minute walk from the Pentagon City Metro. Free parking is available for the first three hours at select parking lots in the area.
