ARLINGTON, VA — Flights arriving at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport were delayed Wednesday because of thunderstorms in the Washington, D.C., region, according to airport status information provided by the FAA’s Air Traffic Control System Command Center.
The FAA said a traffic management program was in effect for flights arriving at the airport. Arrival delays were averaging 43 minutes as of 12:25 p.m.

The delay information applies to general airport conditions and is not flight-specific. Travelers from Arlington, Fairfax County and the greater Washington region were advised to check directly with their airlines to determine whether individual flights were affected.
The FAA also reported that some departing flight schedules could be affected because of delays to arriving aircraft. General arrival delays were listed at 15 minutes or less.
